The Mini was Jo’s first ever car, bought by her engineer and classic car restoring Dad when she was 16. It was falling apart but a year of restoration and it was ready to be on the road for learning to drive.
Four driving tests later and 3 weeks before her 18th birthday the world was her oyster…..
Or at least Britain was!!
All over the country the mini drove , frequenting many a UK racecourse and daily drives to 6th form, the local vets for a gap year job,completed the London to Brighton mini run twice and was even hidden in a barn in Oxfordshire when first year undergraduates weren’t allowed cars!
But journey became longer and more room was needed for student house moves etc etc …
so in the winter of 2003 the mini was returned home, covered in a dust sheet and stored …..
